Directions

From Union Station - take the Light Rapid Transit streetcar ($2) west along Harbourfront. Get off at the corner of Spadina Avenue and King Street.
From the Bus Terminal - go out the main entrance and walk one-half block south to Dundas Street. Take the westbound streetcar ($2) and transfer to the southbound streetcar at Spadina Avenue-get off at King Street.

Global Village Backpackers is located in the former Spadina Hotel-a Toronto landmark famous for many of the celebrities who stayed here over the years-including Jack Nicholson (he made a film in the bar), Leonard Cohen, Alana Miles, the Tragically Hip and many more. The building was constructed in 1875 and has undergone numerous renovations. Global Village Backpackers is the largest year-round international travellers hostel in Toronto. The hotel has 200 beds available-including doubles, singles and quads. Half the rooms have a view of the famous CN Tower (which is a five minute walk away) and all sleeping areas are spacious, clean and comfortable. There are approximately 2.3 Canadian dollars (CAD) to the UK Pound (UKP)

How much will it cost?

We'll be taking a seven seater cab to Hetahrow. It works out only a few quid more than parking two cars - but should be loads more convienient. It will pick Steve and Ian up from Steve's place at 10:15 on Saturday the 17th. It will then come and pick up the rest of us from my place.

Accomodation will cost about 140 UKP all in.
The train fares will cost about 80 UKP
The transport to Niagara at least another 15 UKP a head
Food and drink will vary - but I'd guess at least 200 UKP - probably more like 300 UKP
All in it's looking like 400 to 500 UKP a head.

How

I'll pay for the hotels, trains and other communal things on my credit card (I don't get points, or cash back etc. - just a good rate). I'll ask for 250 UKP up front each and then get the balance on the way back.

• You'll need travel Insurance - get some. The sooner you get it the sooner you're covered.
• On the flights make sure you have no sharp objects in your bags, even nail sissors or razor blades. Hand-guns are OK though! :-)
